I have been an artist for over twenty years; for me, painting is a tool of expression, contemplation and freedom.

I studied drawing and graphic design in college. That graphic design influence continues to show up in my work, in the form of thick black outlines, flat planes of vibrant color and shapes and pieces that weave together to form a whole.

Art history and the masters have always inspired me, however, my process probably more closely resembles street art. The immediacy of expression found in
a city’s spray-painted murals offers a  direct connection between artist and audience.

The simpler a visual symbol is, the more accessible it becomes. My work is about that accessibility. Comics, cartoons, music and the people I love, have been a huge influence in my art.
